Introducing New Blog: Pure & Simple Health & Wellness


Why this blog? I have one already, but it has an entirely different purpose and focus. In the last year especially, I’ve taken a bigger interest in health, wellness, toxins and how to live a healthier life. I come from a family who has more interest in these things as well. I grew up going occasionally to a chiropractor and a naturopathic doctor and saw them give unique and positive results in myself and in family members. I still see both kinds of doctors now... just this past week the chiropractor helped my sinuses clear and an earache to go away! My mom also tended to be cautious of things she used around the house, put on our bodies and the things that we ate. She was no extremist, and neither am I, but she strove to make healthier choices for her family.That is what I hope to do too!

I chose the title of this blog because I believe health and wellness should be pure (as in natural and free of toxins) and simple (not overly complicated). Of course, health nowadays cannot be that simple because we live in a culture that has highly processed everything with complicated ingredients! But, a goal I have with this blog is to help make health and wellness simpler for you!

While I am by no means an expert and have not had any specific training in the area of health I enjoy learning and doing research on the subject! (I did consider going to school for natural medicine at one point.) I’ve been at a point in my life recently where I’ve been able to stay at home and literally spend hours reading and researching different companies, products, ingredients, etc. I am not a person who tends to “jump on a band wagon” just because something seems to “work”. I am a naturally critical person and I like to look at things from every angle, so I like to think of myself as educated and fair in my assessments. Some questions I (and all of us should) ask are: Is this a trustworthy company? How are they structured/organized? What do they claim and what are the facts? How all-natural are they really? What are the product’s ingredients and how good/bad are they? How beneficial are the products/ingredients? Is this going to benefit my health long-term or is it just something to make me feel better? How important is this item to my health? Is the cost-benefit worth it? Or is there another product out there that’s just as good but better-priced? What do the reviews say? What do experts say?  There are so many questions that need to be answered. Honestly, researching companies/products/ingredients takes a lot of time! And it’s so hard to know who/what to believe! I’ve had many things recommended to me that sound good, but when I dig deeper I discover they’re really not as natural as I thought or the best option out there! 

On this blog I’ll be sharing things I’ve learned, reviewing companies and products, and sharing products/brands I’ve come to use and trust.
